Guru

         SRI GURU         GRANTH SAHIB

Where Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the leader of Sikhism, there are also treasures of moral virtues. By learning from the Gurbani, a human being acquires good qualities and his mentality is sharpened. By adopting these virtues the body and mind of a human being is cleansed, the feeling of jealousy, slander and evil is eradicated from within him and virtues like true benevolence, obedience and self control are produced.

👉What is honesty in Sri Guru Granth Sahib?

Integrity One of the major problems facing the world today is ‘corruption’ which the government has experimented with in the past to curb it. Guru Nanak devised a model for the world, according to which eating the rights of others is equivalent to eating pork for Muslims and eating beef for Hindus. If we adopt this model, many criminal activities like corruption, fraud, theft and looting can be stopped from all over the world.

Guru

👉What is Obedience in Sri Guru Granth Sahib?

The revolution brought about by obedient scientific progress has created the illusion that children are so knowledgeable that today they feel that they are able to know everything with the help of internet which makes them feel better than their grandparents. Believe it or not. Because of this delusion, they do not obey their parents or teachers. It is the religion of the student to obey what the teacher says. Only by adopting this point can a sense of discipline be created by a human being.

Gurbani

👉What is patience in Sri Guru Granth Sahib?

Patience in itself is not a moral virtue, but by adopting it many moral virtues automatically become a part of human life. In Gurbani it is compared to patience or contentment. Patience means happily accepting whatever you have, while restraint means spending what you have wisely. But some people associate self-control with stinginess. However, a miser is a person who avoids spending as much as he needs to in spite of everything.
In many places in Gurbani the concept of patience and contentment leads a human being to be self restrained.

👉What does it mean to be one inside and out according to Gurbani?

Today’s man has become so blind in the mother of his selfishness that he is treating every other person as a different character. Today’s man can be seen changing his character faster than a chameleon for his own benefit. But Gurbani urges us to be one inside and out. According to that, the person should be the same from the inside as he looks from the outside.

👉What is Heroism in Sri Guru Granth Sahib?

Heroism is one of the moral virtues of a human being which can be said to be permanent meaning fearless, according to which a human being should neither fear anyone unnecessarily nor should he intimidate anyone. According to the Gurbani, a human being will be aware of his rights and will have a sense of struggle to achieve them.

Guru

👉What is Self-confidence in Sri Guru Granth Sahib?

It is a common belief that a person should stand on his own two feet and do his own thing. This is how self-confidence awakens in a person. Being dependent on someone is a burden. Only when a feeling of self-confidence comes in a person then he will have confidence in himself and he will be eager to do everything. Adopting self-confidence will reduce the disease of begging where the philosophy of labour is applicable in the society. It is within self-confidence that the human being develops the tendency to be courageous in times of trouble.

Guru

👉What is Forgiveness in Sri Guru Granth Sahib?

Teachers at a young age often remind students that ‘the one who forgives is greater than the one who makes mistakes’ and the other is that ‘apologizing does not make one big or small’. But it can only stay in the human mind due to the kindness of being able to forgive or the feeling of apologizing. The root cause of the violence that is taking place in today’s society is the spirit of vengeance. But according to the Gurbani, kindness awakens in the human mind the feeling of love by extinguishing this fire of vengeance.

ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਸੋ ਆਖੀਐ
ਜਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ।।
He alone is called Jivan-Mikat, liberated while yet alive, from within whom egotism is eradicated.

Not only that, but Gurbani speaks of embracing the feeling of kindness towards all living beings, meaning that only kindness creates contentment in a human being. Instead of seeking revenge for a mistake made by another person or creature, one acquires the attitude of forgiving.

Gurbani

👉What is Solitaire in Sri Guru Granth Sahib?

Solitaire in Gurbani means to encourage. There is so much urgency in the life of a human being due to which there is no stability in him. With every speedy result on the internet, concentration and patience have been lost. People are no longer as courageous as the rivers. In addition to the departure, there were elements like calm nature and calmness. That is why people now fail to hide anyone’s secret.
The nature of knowing the Consequences before doing any work has taken away one’s stability from within the human being. The Gurbani says that a human being should have the same courage as a tree because it is the nature of a tree that it overcomes every adversity with a steadfast attitude, but on the contrary, when a human being feels a little bit of warmth, sorrows and griefs arise. If we make this model of Gurbani a part of our life than many troubles can be faced.

👉What is a tolerance in Sri Guru Granth Sahib?

Tolerance is the next element of endurance which means endurance.
But negative thinking should not be taken to mean that one should endure every oppression that is inflicted on oneself with a smile, but rather that one should immediately respond to another person’s harsh words and petty remarks in the same direction. The place is to be a little tolerant. If a person brings the element of tolerance in his nature, then the petty fights in the streets, neighbourhood and relationships can be easily resolved. Baba Farid ji say-

Farid ji, don’t turn and strike those who strike you with their fists. Kiss their feet, return to your home.

👉What is the respect of a woman, according to Gurbani?

Respect for women is also a part of our moral duty. Although women are a part of believing in the love of human beings, respect for women has been a separate issue in this society from the very beginning. Today the whole world is giving its unique ideas and conclusions by holding various conferences and seminars on the safety and dignity of women. Guru Nanak Dev ji says-

ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਮੰਦਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਜਿਤੁ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਰਾਜਾਨੁ।।
So why call her bad, From her, kings are born.

The bottom line is that if we make Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji a part of our personal life by understanding the above moral values in the present moment instead of understanding it as a big phenomenon of spiritual mysticism, then the concept of establishing a beautiful society is complete.
